You Need a Fashion Shower

I know what you're wondering, and yes, I am totally quoting the newest campaign video from Anna Dello Russo for H&M. But truly, the initiations of fashion month could not have come soon enough. The inspiration was starting to wane, which is evident by my lack of posts- oops!, but the next few weeks are sure to give me enough sartorial satisfaction to survive the next drought.
Here I give you a comfy fashion week outfit. OK, maybe just a day, not the whole week. Lately, Zara has been a mecca for the minadiere, a couple of which I succumbed to myself, and I thought this beaded beauty added a little texture to the basics that make up the rest of the outfit. But lets not forget that coat. I am beginning to surprise myself with how much I want things that I post. I am also exceedingly unsurprised that the object of my affections is one of the most pricey pieces in the trunk show. But can you blame me? The cocoon shape is perfect and I love the little addition of some texture and a very industrial-looking zipper. Also, how clever is it that they lined it in neoprene? So you get the great structure of it, without limiting the coat's versatility.
To give you a flawless base, I added a simple longsleeve T, some great ballet flats and a tailored mini-skirt. The skirt has been taunting me a while now from my wishlist page on The Outnet. I will probably just have to get it... I can always return it, right? And because I think it's good to add something I actually own to these lists, you have the bracelet. Such cool details, not to mention I had credit at Moda Operandi.
The best think about this look- change a few items like the coat and shoes and you've got a brand new outfit. Presumably, these few things could last you the whole week just by adding a handful of others to your suitcase.
So now I will leave you to enjoy the day's fashionable festivities, either vicariously, like me, or in person. I know I'll be in the virtual first row of several shows and that of streetstyle. God, I think fashion week may be better than Christmas.
'Why? Because I love it.'
