L'essentiel: Part Une

Now, if you don't know any French or are too lazy to double check my title's meaning on google translate like I had to, that means the essentials: part one. These are the things that I feel are the foundation, and body, of a effortlessly chic wardrobe. And I mean actually effortless. Not the kind where you look like you just rolled out of bed in a Parisian fashion but you actually spent 30 minutes adjusting the way your t-shirt is half-tucked into your jeans. I mean for real, I just woke up 15 minutes ago effortless. Now the exaction's of these pieces may change some with the trends but most of them will survive the years. For example, muscle tees might not be as cool next summer as they are now but, at the moment, I favor them over your basic t-shirt. This is merely a guideline, personalize it to your taste. For me, it's this T by Alexander Wang grey top. Soft, drapey and goes with EVERYTHING. Next on my list is a pair of mid-wash skinny jeans, I'm loving a distressed detail at the moment. Lanvin black ballet flats were also a no-brainer: the most classic of the classic style. These Manolo's are my number one wish right now, don't even try to find a more perfect pointed-toe pump. I've attempted, but these have ruined me for all other shoes. The gist is that you want a nude pointed-toe heel without a platform. Next, a black sweater with some texture to throw over anything and everything when it gets chilly. This one is Calvin Klein Collection and I'm salivating over it just a little. And the last piece of this first installment is a Louis Vuitton duffel. Now, you may argue for the classic monogram but yours truly is partial to the Damier Azur that you see above.
